The idea to create a photographic documentation of medal achievements of the world’s top ski jumpers had been on my mind for a long time. As it happens, everything happened by accident. I thank Andreas Wank for open up my mind on the 26th of March 2019.

The focal motif underlying my artistic activity evolves around ephemeral human experience in contrast with the timelessness of the most impressive sports achievements. Perpetui Flores – everlasting flowers – are the medals won the over the last 19 years of the twenty first century at The Olympic Games, Four Hills Tournaments, World Championships, Ski flying World Championships and World Cup Overall; an impressive collection presented as a floral arrangement.

To show the historical sports accomplishments in the form of floral bouquets. I invited to my photo sessions over thirty world renowned competitors – World Champions, The Four Hills Tournament winners, World Cup winners and Olympic Champions.

Ski jumping awakens very positive emotions and I wish the exhibition will increase interest not only in this discipline itself but also in the ski jumpers creating its contemporary history. I hope it will be an inspiration for all the contestants, coaches, sports activists and fans as well. For contributions of this project, let this be a pleasant memory. You are truthfully great.

The presentation of medals in the form of bouquets of flowers is unusual. As an athlete, I haven’t seen all my trophies at the same time. What’s more, I think that not only me, but most ski jumpers did not have such an opportunity. Usually, when you get home, the medal lands in a box or case. Being active athletes, we try to look to the future and therefore we do not think about what we have already achieved, but focus on goals that are still achievable.

Thanks to the original photographic design of the author of the exhibition, my wife, not only me, but also other titled ski jumpers, could stop for a moment and see all their sport achievements in one photo. For some, the exhibition can be an inspiration and motivation for further achievements. For others, however, it can be an opportunity to reflect and appreciate what they have won. For fans – unique memories, because every medal is a beautiful story that we wrote.

Comparing the number and colors of medals is not important. Each bouquet is beautiful. Each one is unique and special. Each one was created from the enormity of work, dedication, sacrifice – not only athletes, but also their loved ones.

On behalf of ski jumpers participating in the project, I would like to thank Ewa Bilan-Stoch for such an original way of celebrating our sports trophies, as well as for the enormity of work and commitment she put into finalizing the entire project.
